You will begin this course by exploring negative externalities and the key features of public goods. moving on to reviewing the instruments that policy makers can use to address these market failures and how effective these instruments are.
Topics covered:
- The main theoretical approaches in environmental and resource economics;
- The role of externalities in environmental economics and the related policies
- Applied environmental policies and regulatory instruments
Commitment: This course is suitable if you have no prior understanding of economics. We recommend/expect learners to complete it within 4 weeks. Each course comprises 2 units divided into 4 sections, making up 7-8 hours of learning. The course ends with a light-touch assessment of the learning for you to measure your learning.
